Knitting and Crochet Workshops!

Hello everyone!

It’s freezing! The perfect weather to sit by the fire with your knitting or crochet. What better fabric is there to keep us warm other than wool?!  But if you can’t knit or crochet or you want to improve your creative skills Gill, Lynn and I have come up with some more dates for workshops that we hope will interest and inspire you.

The perfect gift for Mother’s day, any day or simply a treat for yourself our workshops are fun, informal and will help to get you started or develop your skills. Here’s the list of them…



‘Intermediate Knitting Techniques’, Sunday 3rd February 2013, 10am-4pm. If you want to progress with your knitting then this course is for you. The day includes learning how to sew up a garment, pick up stitches, make a bobble, do a cable stitch, the art of intarsia and anything else you need guidance with.

‘Sock Making’, Sunday 3rd March 2013, 10am-4pm. Learn to create a beautiful pair of socks handmade with fun yarn! Master working with four needles, turn a heel and discover kitcheners stitch to complete the toe. WARNING sock making is addictive!

‘Learn to knit’, Sunday 28th April 2013, 10am-4pm. This course is for the complete beginner and will help you discover the beauty of creating something. Learn how to cast on, cast off, increase and decrease stitches, interpret a pattern and begin a project. We look at the different types of yarn, weights of wool and which needles to use. All good fun!


‘Learn to Crochet’, Sunday 10th February 2013, 10am-4pm. This workshop is for the novice, the beginner, the wannabee crocheter! A very vintage hobby and very much ‘in vogue’. Learn how to create a chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, treble and more… We guarantee you will be ‘hooked’ after the course!

‘Crochet Blocks and Borders’, Sunday March 10th, 10am-4pm. Relax on Mother’s Day  and take your crochet skills a little bit further. This workshop is for those of you who want to progress on from the basics…learn the art of creating squares and rounds and more…

‘Doodles and Scrambles’, Sunday April 14th, 10am-4pm. Be adventurous with your creative skills and discover freeform crochet. Using lots of different yarns, colour and texture you will learn that crochet isn’t all about granny squares! Doodling and Scrambling with your crochet hook is an art that joins elements together to produce a bag, a throw, a garment…anything! Come along and see!

Workshops cost £50 and are inclusive of everything…written material to support practical tuition, yarn, needles or hooks, refreshments and lunch too! Hosted by qualified tutors, courses are held in our lovely new premises where you will be surrounded by beautiful colours and textures. A feast for the eye! To ensure a quality learning experience numbers are limited…so hurry!
